ipv6 fping?

Fri Oct 11, 2013 9:27 am

Hi All,

is it possible to ping an ipv6 block as in ipv4? Couldn't find how on the discussions, sorry if it's a repeated thread.

Thanks,
Javier

I am not following either. If you are looking for the same result as a broadcast ping in the ipv4 world you can ping the multicast address if your on that specific ipv6 network by pinging ff02:1

Hope he doesn't mean a sweep ping.

It'd take hundreds of thousands of years to sweep ping a single /64 at the rate of 1,000,000 pings per second.
