IPV6 addresses cannot ping

Wed Sep 11, 2013 11:45 am

Hi,

I have configure two interfaces which are directly connected with ipv6 address, see below: For some reason I cannot ping the addresses on ipv6. The interfaces are up and also have link local and global ip address which I am trying to ping.

frcbr2#sh run int e 0/0
Building configuration...

Current configuration : 91 bytes
!
interface Ethernet0/0
no ip address
full-duplex
ipv6 address 2000:45::/64 eui-64
end

frcbr3#sh run int e 0/0
Building configuration...

Current configuration : 117 bytes
!
interface Ethernet0/0
ip address 192.168.16.2 255.255.255.252
full-duplex
ipv6 address 2000:45::/64 eui-64
end

Can they ping via IPv4 addresses? Is the link state up/up on both sides?

Did you also use the "no shutdown" command for both of those interfaces?
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.
