Use of 1142N APs with a WLC2106 controller?

Wed May 04, 2016 11:35 am

Good afternoon fellow Cisco lovers,

I recently acquired some older hardware and am looking to set it up at my home.

Hardware:
2x AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9
Boot shows me this software information:
- Cisco IOS Software, C1140 Software (C1140-K9W8-M), Version 12.4(23c)JA4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
- LWAPP image version 7.0.230.0

1x AIR-WLC2106-K9
Boot shows me this software information:
- v7.0.230.0

My problem is this:
After performing the initial configuration, and plugging one of the APs into the POE port 8, it states that it cannot obtain an IP via DHCP.
Are the APs compatible with the WLC I purchased? Do I have a potential configuration issue?

Thank you very much for your time and assistance,

Sean
