Coonecting Help

Mon Mar 06, 2006 5:19 pm

Ok I need a lot of help.

First off here are my computers
1. ibook running OS X A
2. Desketop running XP B
3. Desktop running XP C
I have them all connected to a D-Link 614+ Wireless Router

The only computer I can connect them all with is C and its my stepdads computer. He has a printer hooked up to his computer that is set for sharing but i cant find it on the other 2 computers. i cant hook up the printer to the router because of no ethernet connection

if someone could please help me it would be very appreciated

btw if i try to access computer c on either computer a or b i get the message " you cant access this network resource" its really frustrating

Check the Windows Firewall settings. It's probably blocking ALL access to the XP computer, including file and printer sharing.

what wifi we talking? A? B? G?

What, if any, kind of encryption are you using? WEP? WPA? Other?

Do you have MAC filerting set up?

Are you broadcasting your SSID or not?

Any and all info you can provide as to the configuration of the router and the type of hardwar on the pc (what kind of wireless NIC's) would aid greatly in diagnosing this.
