CCNP RS recertification

Fri Apr 15, 2016 9:00 pm

Hello, my CCNP RS is about to expire.

I think that I can recertify with other professional level cert (i.e any CCNP Security,CCNP Voice, etc).

But I was wonder if I can recertify with any of this exams 642-997 DCUFI or 642-980 DCUFT which are part of Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric Support Specialist.

This certification is part of the Specialists program. This certification has No prerequisites. And both exams are also part of CCNP DC.

So my quiestion is if I can recertify my CCNP RS with any of those exams? and if I can take those exams even if I do not have CCNA DC.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

From
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/training-events/training-certifications/certifications/professional/ccnp-routing-switching.html#~Recert

Cisco Professional-level certifications (CCNP, CCNP Wireless, CCDP, CCSP, CCNP Security, CCNP Voice, CCIP, CCNP Service Provider, CCNP Service Provider Operations, and CCNP Data Center) are valid for three years. To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

  • Pass any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, or
  • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
  • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications

Therefore, passing either one of 642-997 DCUFI or 642-980 DCUFT, should recertify your CCNP R&S for 3 years.
