New Network Engineer @ JPMC - Trying to help hiring managers

Hi, I originally posted this in another location, but it looks like this might be more appropriate. Sorry, I haven't been to this forum in a while. I finally have a challenging job again. :) I just started a Network Engineer role at JPMC in Columbus, Ohio, and I've enjoyed it so far. I've talked wit...

Started a new job @ JPMC - They're really looking for people

I just started a Network Engineer role at JPMC in Columbus, Ohio, and I've enjoyed it so far. I've talked with several of the other hiring managers, and they are looking for a decent fit for 3 roles: -Web Security -Network Engineer - Tier 3 (with Fortinet experience) -Programmer (Python, C++, etc) (...

Re: Resetting HSRP Priority after it has been Decremented

I had no say in how it's set up. Hopefully I'll get to that level soon.

I haven't worked with an IP SLA yet either. I'm researching more about that now. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Resetting HSRP Priority after it has been Decremented

The VPN that that router was using to get that route was down That explains a lot. I was confused because I didn't see a command specifying that it tracks a different interface. The route wasn't working, so the track was down and that's what caused HSRP to move to the backup router. I never worked w...

Re: Resetting HSRP Priority after it has been Decremented

I just found out how to fine information on "tracked object number" 10. Router# show track It looks like they set up a track, which I haven't worked with yet, so that they can use an IP route instead of an interface. I thought it was just monitoring the gi0/1.1 interface. I'm still not sur...

Re: Resetting HSRP Priority after it has been Decremented

That's not the behavior that I've seen or expect. I thought that one of the purposes of the decrement command was to detect if a link was flapping and keep traffic off of that router. Was that a different FHRP? Here is the config that I'm using (with some information left out): interface GigabitEthe...

Resetting HSRP Priority after it has been Decremented

I am trying to find an easy way of moving the HSRP back to the primary router if the HSRP priority on the primary router has been decremented by the "standby track" command and the interface going down. I would think that there would be a command to reset the priority back to the configure...

Re: Looking for One-Day Jobs

Ok, that wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Seeing Cisco router installs where the bid was down to $20 was very discouraging. I'm looking to get a hold of companies that find people for technical one-day jobs. I want to get on their list where they will call or email me if there is an opportunit...

Re: Looking for One-Day Jobs

Actually, I've never used either of those 3. Thanks for the help! That looks to be exactly what I was looking for.

Looking for One-Day Jobs

I have found opportunities for short term technical jobs in the past, and with my new schedule I have more open time in my schedule to do this. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of luck finding these opportunities lately. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website or a company that deals with disp...
